There haven’t been many words from Nidia since her retirement from the wrestling industry in 2005. Nidia Guenard, who co-won the first season of WWE’s Tough Enough, was released by WWE in 2004 and only spent another year on the indie scene afterward. Fightful Select has an upcoming big feature on the former WWE talent and has released some tidbits ahead of time.
In the interview that will come out this weekend, Nidia explained that she has closed the door on professional wrestling and has moved on to the life of motherhood. She has no desire to return to the ring or to wrestle again in the future. As far as any promotions reaching out to her, she states that no one is really contacting her nowadays.
Nidia speaks on her release from WWE and states that when it occurred she was planning to quit anyway. Her fear was that she didn’t want to breach her contact and she wanted to leave on good terms. There is no bad blood between her and the company. She was ready to move on with her life.
Although she never wrestled in the United States again after leaving WWE, she did do some bookings elsewhere. Places she wanted to vacation, she ended up wrestling at which lasted for about a year.
Her decision to disconnect from the wrestling world entirely was to make it easy to transition out of the business. As many are aware, it is hard to step away from the business and stay out. That proof is with a lot of talent that retire just to come back.
