This week’s NXT started with General Manager William Regal in the center of the ring making two huge announcements. First, he announced a two-night TakeOver event to take place prior to WrestleMania. TakeOver: Stand & Deliver will take place on April 7 and April 8.
Next came the reveal and introduction of the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships. Regal invited the NXT women’s division out on the ramp to make this announcement. He stated that he is tired of waiting for things to happen so he has decided to do it himself by introducing these titles.
He invited Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez to the ring before the reveal. As a result of them being cheated out of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles last week and for winning the first-ever Dusty Cup Tournament he named them the inaugural champions.
Speaking of the Dusty Cup, their competitors from the finals had something to say about the new titles. Shotzi Blackheart & Ember Moon entered the ring and explained that the Dusty Classic finals could have really gone either way. As a result, they want the first shot at the new champions.
Later tonight, Blackheart and Moon will take on the newly crowned champions in an NXT Women’s Tag Team Title match. Can Blackheart and Moon crash the party for Kai & Gonzalez before it begins?
