On this week’s Women’s Division Wednesday, Maria Kanellis-Bennett awarded a golden ticket to Allysin Kay to enter this summer’s ROH Women’s Championship Tournament.
Since the end of April, week after week competitors have been facing off in order to impress Kanellis-Bennett to earn golden tickets to enter into the upcoming tournament. So far the participants of the tournament includes Rok-C, Angelina Love, Trish Adora, and Miranda Alize.
Although Kay was granted her entry, she did not partake in a match. Kanellis-Bennett stated that Kay’s history and talent speaks for itself. Kay recently left NWA and according to a report by Fightful Select, she has spoken to multiple companies since leaving. The pandemic was one of the reasons she stated that she ended up leaving NWA and wanted to work the indies for supplemental income. Her deal with NWA did not allow her to do so at the time she decided to leave.
Since leaving NWA, Kay says she has heard from two major companies, one being AEW where she appeared at Full Gear. She heard good things about her performance from both Dustin Rhodes and Tony Khan but hadn’t hear further negotiations. With that being said she still has interest in the promotion and speaks with Serena Deeb regularly.
This week’s match for Women’s Division Wednesday was between Hyan and Max the Impaler. These two competitors are receiving a second shot to enter the tournament as they have already competed in a tag team match when Women’s Division Wednesday’s kicked off.
Max picked up the win this week after they delivered a backstabber on her shoulder to Hyan. They then stacked her up to get the pin.
