On tonight’s special night of Dynamite, Hikaru Shida celebrated her year long reign as AEW Women’s World Champion. Shida won the belt on May 23 of last year after defeating Nyla Rose at Double or Nothing. During the celebration, Shida received the new title belt.
It appears to be the same design just larger in size.
Shida has been striving to hold onto the belt so that she can defend the championship for the first time ever in front of a live crowd. She will get that wish this Sunday at Double or Nothing as she faces Dr. Britt Baker in front of fans.
Baker interrupted the ceremony and said that once she wins the belt on Sunday she will be the face of a new era. She added that the era before her was all about 3:16, but this era will be all about D.M.D.
Also on Dynamite we witnessed Jade Cargill finally picking herself a manager. Her manager is Mark Sterling which angered Matt Hardy. Free agent no more Cargill presented an open challenge to which KiLynn King accepted. Cargill became 6-0 as she delivered Jaded to get the pin.
