Charlotte Flair wins the battle against Rhea Ripley to become RAW Women’s Champion

Charlotte Flair adds another championship to her repertoire as she becomes RAW Women’s Champion for the fifth time in her career. In what many would call the match of the night, Flair defeated Rhea Ripley to capture the title, ending Ripley’s reign at 98-days.

This match had everything and both women delivered. The dynamic these two have in the ring together really shined bright and for the first time, it was in front of a live crowd.

The end of Ripley’s title reign became evident once Flair had the champion’s leg trapped in the steel steps. Flair knew she was going to have to go that extra mile when Ripley wouldn’t stay down for a three count and launched into the steel steps to make sure the champion could no longer fight back.

Flair capitalized on the injured leg to lock in the Figure Eight which led to The Nightmare finally tapping out.

Flair has been chasing after the title since Ripley defeated Asuka at WrestleMania 37 in April. The two battled at last year’s WrestleMania 36 with the NXT Women’s Championship on the line. They weren’t able to perform in front of a crowd at that time due to the start of the pandemic. Flair defeated Ripley in that encounter to become a two-time NXT Women’s Champion.
