Deonna Purrazzo is now a double champion as she is the AAA Reina de Reinas Champion.
The Knockouts Champion put her title on the line against Faby Apache at Triplemania XXIX in a title vs. title match this Saturday. Whichever woman won would walk out as a double champion, and more gold is now around the waist of Purrazzo.
Apache became a four-time Reina de Reinas Champion during a Six-way match in May for a vacant title. The championship was vacated after former champion Taya Valkyrie signed with WWE. Valkyrie had also held both the Reina de Reinas title and the Knockouts Title at the same time in 2019.
The win did come with some controversy. The referee highly favored Purrazzo by ignoring interferences, helping The Virtuosa with rope breaks, and even providing fast counts. She would win by submission after locking in the Venus de Milo.
Purrazzo continues to have a full schedule coming up as she faces Melina at NWA Empowerrr on Aug. 28, Mercedes Martinez at WrestlePro on Oct. 16 plus Bound for Glory in late October.
