In heartbreaking and tragic news, Shannon Spruill, known to wrestling fans as Daffney Unger, has passed away at the age of 46. SHIMMER Wrestling posted on its social media from Lexie Fyfe confirming that Spruill has passed away.
Daffney started her career with wrestling in 1999. She is best known for her early career in WCW, and has worked with TNA and a number of indie promotions such as SHINE and SHIMMER.
In her time with WCW she worked with Crowbar and became the second woman in history to become WCW Cruiserweight Champion. Daffney is loved by many in the industry who are sharing their love for her throughout social media at this time.
Daffney was recently featured on an episode of GAW TV alongside Mickie James, SoCal Val, and Lisa Marie Varon.
