This week’s SmackDown hosted a WrestleMania Main Event rematch where Sasha Banks took on Bianca Belair. Earlier in the day, WWE announced that there will be a Triple Threat Match at the upcoming Crown Jewel event with Banks, Belair, and Becky Lynch for the SmackDown Women’s Title. Lynch, as the current champion, was on commentary during the Banks vs. Belair rematch.
The result would end up quite different than what happened at WrestleMania as this time Banks would get the victory over Belair with an assist from Lynch. After The Boss almost secured the win from a frog splash, she sent Belair out of the ring. This led to a confrontation between Lynch and Belair. As the official was occupied with Banks in the ring, Lynch had a hold of Belair’s braid on the ring apron as the EST tried to make it back in the ring.
Banks capitalized and rolled up Belair to get the win.
Directly after the bell rang, Charlotte Flair who was drafted to SmackDown earlier in the night, took out both Banks and Belair. She stood in the ring with her RAW Women’s Championship as Lynch stood on the announce desk with her SmackDown Women’s belt in hand. There are currently two champions on SmackDown heading into night two of the draft that will take place on Monday’s RAW.
Speaking of the draft, with SmackDown being a shorter show, there were only four rounds of picks. In those picks, the following women found out where they will be fighting starting Oct. 22.
Round 1 –
RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair drafted from RAW to SmackDown
Bianca Belair drafted from SmackDown to RAW
Round 2 –
No women were drafted.
Round 3 –
B-Fab gets called up with Hit Row to SmackDown from NXT
Women’s Tag Team Champions Rhea Ripley and Nikki A.S.H. stay on RAW
Round 4 –
Naomi stays on SmackDown
Hopefully Monday’s RAW will have a lot more women in the discussion.
As for what else took place on SmackDown, Liv Morgan and Carmella were set to go one-on-one in another rematch. The match never got started as Carmella went outside the ring and had a mask placed on her face so that Morgan can’t do any further damage to it.
Carmella would get herself back in the ring to deliver an X-Factor to Morgan to end the segment.
As for the 205 Live match this week, Amari Miller picked up a win as she defeated Valentina Feroz. The two met previously which resulted in Feroz winning their initial encounter.
Check back in with Diva Dirt for more news on SmackDown and continue along with the WWE Draft which will finish on Monday’s RAW.
