Toxic Attraction is making all the headlines and they are just getting started.
Despite Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin coming up short in their first title match for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles, they are still on the hunt. And Mandy Rose is coming right for the NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez.
This week’s NXT 2.0 started off with Rose in action as she took on Ember Moon. Moon has been having a rough time lately. Despite a recent win on 205 Live, Moon has been struggling to pick up wins ever since she lost the tag titles and then her tag team partner [Shotzi Blackheart] who was called up to SmackDown.
After a running knee from Rose and some help from her Toxic Attraction teammates, Ember’s luck continued to fall as Rose picked up a big win.
This would not be the last time we saw Toxic Attraction during the night. Gonzalez appeared later in the night to address the attack she suffered from the stable last week. She says that Rose and company made a big mistake in jumping her. Rose has been a hot topic for a month now, but Gonzalez says she has been dominating for nearly a year.
Toxic Attraction emerged and after Jayne declared that the group will all become champions, they surrounded the ring to attack the champion once again – only this time Gonzalez had some back-up. The NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Zoey Stark and Io Shirai rushed into the ring which caused Toxic Attraction to retreat. Despite Shirai have quite a history with Gonzalez, she confirms the “enemy of my enemy is my friend” scenario.
Also, in a backstage segment, Dolin & Jayne aren’t the only two that are wanting the tag titles. Indi Hartwell-Lumis is back from her honeymoon and after a win against Mei Ying earlier in the night, she and Persia Pirotta are ready for tag team gold. The champs remind Hartwell that it was she that they won the titles from, but Persia stepped in to say that she is here now and things are different.
As previously stated, the new Mrs. Lumis was successful in a match against Mei Ying. Ying has only had one prior match in which she was victorious, but this time it wasn’t in her favor. She dominated until Pirotta took a hit that was meant for Hartwell on the outside. After a springboard elbow drop, Hartwell got the three count. Ying sat up after being pinned as Hartwell celebrated with Pirotta.
A third women’s match of the night was the advertised debut of Cora Jade. Despite Jade having prior matches and losses to both Xia Li and Franky Monet, this match was dubbed her debut under the NXT 2.0 banner.
Originally set to face enhancement talent, Virginia Ferry, Franky Monet appeared with Robert Stone and attacked her – taking her out of the match before it began. Jade then had to battle Monet who just came off a battle for the championship. The newcomer would pick up a huge upset win as she rolled through the Glam Slam to get the pin. Jade celebrated with her boyfriend Trey Baxter who was at ringside.
Other women that appeared on the show in promos were Ivy Nile, B-Fab, Elektra Lopez, and Lash Legend. Legend stated that her second episode of ‘Lashing out with Lash Legend’ will take place next week and she has hot tea to spill.
