SmackDown Discussion Post: 10.15.21

Tonight’s SmackDown is a Super-Sized edition that will be 30-minutes longer and will air on FS-1 with the last 30-minutes commercial-free.

In the main event, Becky Lynch will take on Sasha Banks one-on-one in a non-title match. This will be the last blue brand show before their Triple Threat (also including Bianca Belair) at Crown Jewel on Thursday, Oct. 21.

This will also be the last show for SmackDown with the current roster as next Friday will be the start of the draft results. For those of you who may need a refresher, the new SmackDown roster starting on Oct. 22 will look as follows:

Aliyah, B-Fab, Charlotte Flair, Naomi, Natalya, Sasha Banks, Shayna Baszler, Shotzi, Toni Storm, and Xia Li.

Other than the main event tonight to look forward to, two other women’s matches are confirmed.

Naomi will finally get her match on the blue brand that she has been advocating for weeks now. Her opponent will be….Sonya Deville. Deville has not wrestled since SummerSlam 2020 and has been in her authoritative role since returning on-screen at the start of the year. Will the animosity between the two come to blows in the ring or does Deville have something else up her well-dressed sleeve?

The third match will be the SmackDown semi-final side of the Queen’s Crown Tournament brackets. Zelina Vega will be facing Carmella. The tournament hasn’t been going very well with fans mostly because of the short times each first-round match has been given. Will the semi-finals fair any better? On Monday’s RAW the other semi-final match will take place between Shayna Baszler vs. Doudrop. The two that make it to the finals between these four women will fight for the crown at Crown Jewel next Thursday.

The women’s action doesn’t stop with WWE on a Friday night. AEW’s Rampage is also airing extra time and will have a Buy In to their show tonight which will air on YouTube. Tay Conti will be taking on Santana Garrett. Then later on in the full Rampage show, Ruby Soho will be battling The Bunny. Feel free to discuss AEW as well in the comment section below.

As always, feel free to discuss tonight’s shows in the comment section below. And please remember to be kind, you never know what someone may be going through.
