Melina becomes number one contender for the NWA World Women’s Title

On this week’s NWA Powerrr, a special all-women’s episode of EmPowerrr was aired. The show kicked off with a Triple Threat match to determine the number one contender to Kamille’s NWA World Women’s Championship.

In this bout were Melina, Chelsea Green, and Kylie Rae as they were all trying to earn a title opportunity. In the final moments of the match, Melina attempted to get a double submission as she had both her opponents the California Nightmare. Both Green and Rae were able to get back on their feet but ended up in a neckbreaker.

Rae attempted to get a pin on Melina but Green broke up the count at two. Green went for the Unprettier on Rae, but Melina ran in with a small package on Green to get the win to secure her championship opportunity.

Four other women’s matches took place on this week’s show.

The Hex successfully defended their NWA Women’s World Tag Team Championships against the team of Jennaicde and Paola Blaze. After depositing Jennacide to the outside, Taryn Terrell hopped onto the ring apron to cause a distraction to The Hex. Kenzie Paige rushed to ringside to pull Terrell off the apron.

Blaze went for a clothesline but wasn’t able to connect and The Hex hit the Hex Marks the Spot for Allysin Kay to get the pin.

Tootie Lynn faced Kamille in an attempt to earn a championship opportunity. Lynn didn’t go down easy, but Kamille would pick up the win to crush the dreams of Lynn after delivering a spear to get the pin.

Lady Frost took on Skye Blue in a Mildred Burke rules match. The rules restricted any closed fists, no over-the-top rope, and no high flying off the top rope. Frost having her signature move being her corkscrew moonsault was perhaps a disadvantage heading into this match. She grew very frustrated throughout the bout and even attempted to go up for the moonsault but Skye stopped her.

Regardless of the rules not working to her advantage, Frost still picked up the win after a roll-up victory with a hand full of tights. Skye argued with the referee about the result.

Lastly, in the main event, Kiera Hogan got a match she has been waiting 10 years for. She faced her mentor and idol – Mickie James. Hogan perhaps got too cocky at the end of the match as she mocked James and attempted to go for Mickie’s famous DDT. James countered and stacked up Hogan for the win.
