This year’s WWE Survivors Series takes place tonight and it promises to be one of the best in the PPV’s history.
All of the hype for this PPV has centered around the on (and off) screen animosity between Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.
The RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion go head-to-head in what has turned into an intense and heated rivalry.
The women of Monday Night RAW take on the women of SmackDown in a traditional five-on-five tag team elimination match.
Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair non-title Champion vs Champion
This match has a built-in animosity like no other.
Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair would have had an excellent match regardless. But the real-life heat that has exploded onto our screens and social media timelines have taken this bout to the next level.
The tension between the two escalated during the title exchange that went disastrously off-script.
Reports of a heated backstage confrontation were the talk of the wrestling business. Since then the two former friends have fueled the fires of speculation every chance they got.
Lynch and Flair are longtime rivals and have fought in many monumental encounters but this one at Survivor Series is looking to be their most memorable yet.
Predicitions:
John: The hype for this match is real with all the heat and animosity making it a must-watch fight.
Personally, I think the entire thing is a work masterfully exploited by the two champions.
Lynch and Flair are two of the best and highly-decorated WWE Superstars of all time. They are both heavily protected wrestlers, which makes picking a winner here very difficult.
Expect to see an intense battle with plenty of close nearfalls before the match is thrown out due to disqualification most likely by Flair who is prone to losing her cool.
Nick:
I feel as though the initial title swap situation was a real argument but everything after that has been a work to fuel their Survivor Series match. The fun part is the reaction to it all is exactly what they’ve all wanted to happen. It has created a buzz. It’s perhaps the match to receive the biggest build with 75% of it happening off-screen.
It would be easy for this match to be amazing and then just give it a DQ ending. I am tired of DQ endings. I am going to give Becky Lynch the win on this but it won’t be clean.
Team RAW vs Team SmackDown
The build for this match hasn’t been great with WWE deciding to pick the teams via social media.
A modicum of interest was added as Sonya Deville chopped and changed the teams most notably removing Aliyah and replacing her with Toni Storm.
The two teams are Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan, Rhea Ripley, Queen Zelina Vega, Carmella make up Team RAW while Sasha Banks, Shayna Baszler, Shotzi, Natalya, Toni Storm complete Team SmackDown.
In the battle for brand supremacy, both teams have a mix of heels and babyfaces with in-fighting sure to take place. Plus Belair has a problem with Doudrop who could also make an appearance.
Predictions:
John: Both teams have a great array of talent on display with a focus on Morgan, Storm, and Shotzi.
The Ballsy Badass is in a feud high-profile with Banks and those two as the surviving members of Team SmackDown would further their story.
Nick: I think the Shotzi and Sasha feud will actually take themselves out of the equation to be the winners and survivors. Speaking logically (I know, I know) I would want the final two to get down to Liv Morgan for Team RAW and Toni Storm for Team SmackDown. Both women will be involved in the title picture moving forward. Finally giving Liv Morgan her moment as the sole survivor.
