Jade Cargill vs. Ruby Soho set for TBS Women’s Championship finals on Jan. 5

We are down to two.

Either Jade Cargill or Ruby Soho will become the inaugural TBS Women’s Champion one week from today. On the Jan. 5 episode of Dynamite, the flagship show moves to the TBS Network, and a new champion will be crowned in the women’s division.

A 12-woman tournament has been in place for the past number of months. Soho defeated Nyla Rose in the semi-finals while Cargill defeated Thunder Rosa on tonight’s Dynamite in the second semi-finals match. Cargill walked in undefeated as she was 21-0.

The match started with a dropkick to the knees by Rosa to Cargill who quickly rolled out of the ring. The first part of the match was spent at ringside for Rosa trying to get the upper hand on her undefeated opponent. Rosa spent a lot of time on Cargill’s leg to try and keep her down. Cargill continued to fight back despite her leg being the target.

Towards the end of the match, Cargill found herself in trouble as she was locked into a Figure Four submission. Cargill was able to make it to the ropes to break the hold. Rosa went right back to try and apply the submission again but was shoved into the corner. While Mark Sterling had the referee distracted arguing on the apron, a masked individual smashed an object over the head of Rosa. Rosa was knocked out for Cargill to hit Jaded to get the victory and advance to the tournament finals.

After the match, Rosa jumped on Cargill and took her down on the mat. The masked assailant, who commentary was at first calling a “crew member,” made their way into the ring to help Cargill. After several shots into Rosa, it was revealed to be Mercedes Martinez.

Ruby Soho rushed to the ring with a lead pipe to help make the save for Thunder Rosa.

Martinez is now officially All Elite.

After the damage was done by Martinez and Cargill, a video was shown of what took place on last week’s Rampage. Kris Statlander scored a victory over Leyla Hirsch. Statlander reached out to shake the hand of Hirsch after the match but Hirsch wanted nothing to do with it.

A video promo aired for Britt Baker vs. Riho for the AEW Women’s World Title at Battle of the Belts on Jan. 8.

A video promo aired for Hikaru Shida. Last week, Serena Deeb stated that it wasn’t over between Shida and herself. Shida agreed and accepted the challenge to continue their rivalry.

For this Friday’s Rampage on New Year’s Smash, the tension has been brought to a Street Fight as Penelope Ford & The Bunny will take on TayJay.
