Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair confirmed to take place on Night One of WrestleMania 38

WrestleMania 38 Night One is starting to shape up and the Raw Women’s Championship match has been added to it. WrestleMania this year will continue as in recent years of having it over two nights on Saturday, April 2 & Sunday, April 3. WWE has confirmed that Becky Lynch will be defending her Raw Women’s Title against Bianca Belair on April 2.

Belair won the chance to face Lynch at Mania after she outlasted five other women in the Elimination Chamber match that took place in February. The two have a history stemming from Lynch’s return at last year’s SummerSlam event where she pinned Belair in a shocking 26 seconds to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship. They are the only two women who have won in main event matches on the WrestleMania stage.

Lynch vs. Belair being confirmed for Saturday may be a surprise to some fans as many expected the bout to take place on Sunday. Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey, which is the only other women’s match confirmed at the time of this writing, was already announced for Saturday’s show. This puts both women’s championships on the same night.

Although not confirmed for WrestleMania at this time, Naomi and Sasha Banks made a statement on Friday’s SmackDown that they are coming for the tag team titles which are currently being held by Carmella and Queen Zelina.
