Asuka has not been on WWE programming since 2021 Money in the Bank in July where she participated in the Money in the Bank match. Since then, she has mentioned being out of action to receive surgery on her shoulder. Recent reports state that she is not available as of yet for a return.
According to Fightful Select, in January they noted that Asuka’s name was mentioned as a potential participant in the Royal Rumble match. This was quickly shot down as an option because she wasn’t ready for a return. PWInsider had noted that WWE was hopeful for a February return and says she is ready for a return once a plan is in place.
Fightful continues by saying they were given a slightly different timetable in that one source says that an optimistic return is “around Spring.” Another WWE source told them that no creative has been started for Asuka at this time because she is not available yet. Furthermore, top talent in the company hasn’t heard of an update on Asuka in quite a while.
It is unknown at this time if Asuka will be returning for WrestleMania at this time.
As for Bayley, she has been out of action due to requiring surgery and recovery time for an ACL injury. Bayley’s last match was in June in a mixed tag team match alongside Seth Rollins as they defeated Bianca Belair & Cesaro. She was planned to have an ‘I Quit’ match with Bianca Belair at the 2021 Money in the Bank event in July. WWE reported her injury had her out for at least nine months.
According to PWInsider, Bayley will be returning to regular television programming after WrestleMania.
Diva Dirt will provide any further updates if they present themselves heading into WrestleMania.
