Kamille is not a fan of the Forbidden Door

The NWA World Women’s Champion says it may be controversial but she isn’t a big fan of the forbidden door concept.

Over the past year or so, many wrestlers have been working with other promotions in order to have matches that we may normally have not seen. She herself worked with AEW’s Legit Leyla Hirsch at NWA EmPowerrr back in August. Every major company has participated in the forbidden door concept including WWE. This was a shock to many fans when they brought in then-IMPACT Knockouts World Champion Mickie James into the Royal Rumble.

While speaking with Battleground Podcast, Kamille was questioned on if she would like to face the current AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill. A question she seems to get often.

“That would definitely interest me,” she said. “To be honest, and this might be controversial or people think I’m crapping on stuff, I’m not the biggest fan of the forbidden door and how open it’s been lately. Contracts are contracts for a reason. people should stay at companies for a reason. If not, why have contracts? If everyone can go everywhere. It’s been taken away the specialness of [appearing for a different company] when it happens. I wish we’d pull back a little bit and everyone stay at the company for a little while. Then, imagine, something like that if no one has been switched around for a while, how big a deal it would be because I do get all the time ‘Kamille and Jade, that’s what I want to see.’ How would I fare against her? I think I’d fare very well. She played college basketball, I played college softball. We have that athlete’s mindset to win and do whatever it takes to win. It’d be an interesting matchup and I definitely think people would be tuning in to watch.” [transcript credit – Fightful]

Kamille has held the NWA World Women’s Title since last June when she defeated Serena Deeb. As she tries to make it to 300-days as champion, she has an upcoming Three-way match on March 20 against both Kylie Rae and Chelsea Green at NWA’s Crockett Cup event.

Since being champion, Kamille has successfully defended “the Burke” against the likes of Leyla Hirsch, Kenzie Paige, Melina, Kiera Hogan, and Taryn Terrell. She did successfully defend against Green once before in a singles match for the title after Green won the number one contenders women’s invitational at EmPowerrr. This will be Rae’s first shot at the title since Kamille has held it.
