Asuka may be making her way back to Raw as early as this Monday, April 25.
In a new report by Fightful Select, there are imminent plans for Asuka to return to Raw as of this weekend. They have learned that the plan is for her to enter at least a short-term program with Becky Lynch.
Lynch has been confirmed by WWE to be returning to Raw this Monday for the first time since prior to WrestleMania. The last time that Lynch and Asuka interacted was in May 2020. Lynch announced on-screen she was pregnant and that as a result, Asuka would become the Raw Women’s Champion after winning the 2020 Money in the Bank.
Fightful further says they were told there have been numerous pitches from talent and creative as to how to bring Asuka back on-screen. There were inquiries back in January as to whether or not she could have entered the Royal Rumble, but those were quickly shot down and they were told she wasn’t ready.
In February, WWE officials told Fightful they expected Asuka to be back in the spring and were looking forward to her return. Asuka has been sidelined since July with an injury. The last she was seen was in the 2021 Money in the Bank match which was won by Nikki A.S.H.
Fightful says this news is the tentative plan as of this weekend and as always until it actually takes place on-screen it could change. There have been numerous changes to Raw all the way up to the show starting as of late.
