Tay Conti has won her first gold in professional wrestling and is now one-half of the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champions. She won the gold alongside Sammy Guevara at AAA’s Triplemania XXX: Monterrey. The match was a Fatal 4-way that included Maravilla & Latigo, Sexy Star & Komander, and the champions heading into the match Chik Tormenta & Arez.
Prior to the match, Guevara was seen walking around with a crutch stating he wasn’t going to be able to compete. Parka Negra was said to be his replacement and he convinced Conti that he had this under control.
By the end of the match, Guevara entered the match himself and took down the opponents with his crutch. He instructed Parka Negra to leave and hinted that he paid him off. The couple would get a double pin making them victorious. The referee didn’t want to raise the hands of the new champions until Guevara alluded to money coming the official’s way. Their hands were then raised.
Also at the show, Taya Valkyrie, Bandido, & Pagano vs. Deonna Purrazzo, Andrade El Idolo, & Cibernetico ended in a no contest.
