Two Champions Collide At Debut Women’s Wrestling Army Event

The new promotion titled Women’s Wrestling Army has its first event under its belt as it took place on Sunday, May 1. The project is owned and operated by Maria Kanellis Bennett with the help of Bobby Cruise. Maria and Cruise were behind the rebuild of ROH’s women’s division in 2021.

This event witnessed two champions go against each other in a Champion vs. Champion bout. The gold wasn’t on the line but the Knockouts World Champion Tasha Steelz did battle with the AAA Reina de Reinas Champion Taya Valkyrie. Steelz was victorious.

Other results from the inaugural event were as follows:

  • Miranda Alize defeated Laynie Luck
  • Trish Adora vs. Big Swole ended in Timit Limit Draw (15:00)
  • CCW Network Championship – Kayla Sparks (c) defeated Mazzerati
  • Queen Bee defeated Christina Marie
  • No Disqualification Match – Alex Gracia defeated Jody Threat
  • Queen Aminata defeated Gabby Ortiz
  • Nicole Savoy defeated Janai Kai

The NWA World Women’s Tag Team Championships were on the line as The Hex took on the team of Willow Nightingale and Holidead. The Hex have held the titles since late August when they were reinstated for the first time in 37 years by NWA.

The Hex was able to continue their reign as they won the bout and retained.
