Despite having about four or five storylines happening on Raw and the return of Asuka, there is only one women’s match set for today’s premium live event. It is from the SmackDown brand. The Women’s Tag Team Championship match was kept off of today’s event as well as Sasha Banks & Naomi will be defending their titles against Shayna Baszler & Natalya on the May 13 episode of SmackDown.
WrestleMania Backlash is today and Ronda Rousey will be getting a rematch against the SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair. With the gold on the line, the match will take place in an “I Quit” match.
The story has continued since WrestleMania with the two women having everything from in-ring brawls to a Beat the Clock “I Quit” Challenge to determine which woman is going to head into the event tonight with the best odds.
Hoping there will be more women on the card tonight, there are plenty of women who could make an appearance if WWE wanted. Lacey Evans has made a claim that her return will see her going after the SmackDown Women’s Title, so maybe she will appear at tonight’s show.
