Allison Danger Joins Women’s Wrestling Army As New Coach

The upstart Women’s Wrestling Army just got a little bit more dangerous.

Women’s Wrestling Army confirmed a report by Sean Ross Sapp on Wednesday that veteran wrestler and coach Allison Danger has joined the promotion’s coaching staff. This news comes just days before WWA’s next set of TV tapings in Chicago on July 8-9.

Danger is most known for her time spent competing in Ring of Honor and Shimmer. She also co-ran Shimmer alongside Dave Prazak. As of late, she had a brief stint coaching at WWE’s Performance Center at the end of 2021 before being released due to “budget cuts.”

“Coach” will be hosting a seminar ahead of WWA’s show on Saturday, July 9. With over 20 years of experience in the business, Allison Danger possesses the skills and knowledge needed to help the next generation thrive. All she needs is the right platform.

I had the chance to chat with Danger at River City Wrestling Con in Jacksonville, Florida, in June. While bonding over women’s wrestling, Danger reiterated that she is retired from in-ring competition due to not being medically cleared. Though that could change with the right medical treatment, Danger is focused on coaching right now.

The former tag team champion mentioned that she would join virtually any promotion’s coaching staff for the right deal, and would even go back to WWE “in a heartbeat” despite her time being cut short. Danger’s brother, Steve Corino, is currently a coach and producer for NXT 2.0.

Women’s Wrestling Army will make a great home for Allison Danger with the use of its one-hour show telling effective stories through two to three matches per episode. Full-length matches have been posted to WWA’s YouTube, while weekly episodes now air every Wednesday on Pro Wrestling TV.

The promotion is being spearheaded by Maria Kanellis-Bennett and Bobby Cruise to provide women in wrestling with a platform unlike any other. Their roster includes Tasha Steelz, Trish Adora, The Hex, Taya Valkyrie, Janai Kai, Willow Nightingale, Big Swole, Holidead, and many others.

Relive women’s wrestling history by reading Ring Post Journal’s 2021 Women’s Wrestling Year in Review, available in paperback, hardcover, and digitally exclusively on Amazon. A portion of proceeds will be donated to National Alliance on Mental Illness in honor of Daffney.
