Liv Morgan & Team Raw Gain Victory Heading Into Money in the Bank

Liv Morgan along with Asuka and Alexa Bliss picked up a big win heading into the Money in the Bank ladder match this weekend. Representing Raw, the aforementioned names defeated Lacey Evans, Raquel Rodriguez, and Shotzi in a six-woman tag team match on the July 1 episode of SmackDown. Becky Lynch was on commentary as the seventh woman in the upcoming Money in the Bank match.

At one point in the match, the SmackDown team witnessed some dissension as Shotzi and Evans would argue at ringside for Shotzi to get back in the match. The final sequence started when Asuka missed a hip attack into the ropes as Shotzi moved out of the way. Morgan tagged herself in.

A kick from Asuka to Shotzi with a Codebreaker by Morgan resulted in a near fall as Rodriguez broke up the three count. A double drop kick from Bliss and Asuka took down Rodriguez. Evans knocked Bliss out with a Woman’s Right before Asuka laid a back hand on Evans. Shotzi clears the ring of Asuka and taunts the audience as Morgan delivered ObLIVion to get the pin and the victory for her team.

Post match, Team Raw were celebrating before Lynch entered the ring and delivered a ManHandle Slam to her rival. Lynch retreated up the ring standing tall as Morgan and Bliss check on Asuka.

In a Digital Exclusive, Bliss and Morgan talk about MITB being every woman for herself despite their teamwork here on SmackDown. Asuka emerges from her attack from Lynch and she was clearly upset over what transpired.

Elsewhere on SmackDown, Natalya and Ronda Rousey were both interviewed backstage separately ahead of their title match on Saturday. Nattie is determined to be the first person to make Rousey tap out as she is determined to become a two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion. Rousey’s response is that she will make Nattie tap out and wasn’t pleased by the lack of math skills she had for how old Ronda’s baby is. She is nine months old, not ten.

Lastly, Sonya Deville was in a segment backstage with Adam Pearce after her loss last week. She wasn’t happy that Pearce booked her in the handicap match last week against Evans and Rodriguez. Deville says she went and filed a formal complaint on him before slapping him across the face.

On this week’s NXT: Level Up that aired after SmackDown on Peacock, one women’s match took place between Amari Miller and Sloane Jacobs. Miller would pick up the victory after delivering the Kansas City Knockout dropping Jacobs face first into her knee.
