Ding dong, hello! We have a new women’s faction in WWE!
After Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair defeated Becky Lynch in the opening match at WWE SummerSlam, Bayley returned after being out of action with an injury for over a year. And she didn’t come alone.
First, Dakota Kai returned to the company after being let go on April 29. Three months post-release, the former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion is now on the main roster and is in a stable led by Bayley. But, they aren’t the only ones.
Io Shirai, now going by IYO SKY, also made a shocking entrance to make the trio complete. Shirai hasn’t been seen since NXT Stand & Deliver during WrestleMania 38 weekend in April. Her contract was reportedly coming up soon, however, she is clearly sticking around now.
The segment ended with Bayley, Kai, and SKY face-to-face with Belair and Lynch, who appeared to turn babyface by hugging Belair after the match. Ultimately, the trio retreated.
Fightful Select reports that this stable was pitched “quite a while ago” before Kai’s release, but Vince McMahon “rejected it.” The report went on to state, “There were other versions pitched that included Raquel and Kay Lee Ray before they got called up and repackaged, respectively.”
