With Extreme Rules coming up on Oct. 8, Liv Morgan will be defending her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Ronda Rousey. The match will be an Extreme Rules Match and despite being the champion, Morgan is still constantly proving her worth.
On the Sept. 23 episode of SmackDown, Morgan took on Lacey Evans in a non-title bout. The match between the two reached its end when Evans went for some weapons including a broom and a kendo stick. When swinging at Morgan with the kendo stick, the champion ducked and followed up with a codebreaker and then ObLIVion to get the pin and the victory.
After the bout, Morgan was out to prove something to everyone including Rousey that she can be extreme. She attacked Evans with the kendo stick using the barricade as well before pulling out a table. Morgan hit a senton off the top of the ring post and came crashing down on Evans who was sitting upon the table.
The second women’s match was between one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions Dakota Kai as she faced Raquel Rodriguez. Kai was joined by the rest of Damage CTRL (IYO SKY and Bayley). Rodriguez was going at it alone until Shotzi came down to help out. She would first take out Bayley before targeting SKY. This distraction for Kai was enough for Rodriguez to roll her up and get the victory.
Bayley and SKY would attack Shotzi on the outside as Kai would keep Rodriguez in the ring. All five women would eventually brawl in the ring before Shotzi and Rodriguez stood tall for the second week in a row. Bayley screams at the pair on the ramp.
Next week – Shotzi will be taking on Bayley one-on-one.
Other women appearing on the show were Scarlett, Maxxine Dupri, and B-Fab.
Scarlett would get in between her husband Karrion Kross and his Extreme Rules opponent Drew McIntyre with a fireball.
Maximum Male Models continue to lose as they lost to the New Day, Max Dupri seems to have had enough but Maxxine Dupri may end up being the full leader of this group.
Humberto and Angel flirted with B-Fab but the rest of Hit Row wasn’t having it. Hit Row was having a party backstage where other partygoers were present such as Sonya Deville, Xia Li, and Natalya.
