Thunder Rosa has been out of action since August when she confirmed that she has been suffering from a back injury. At that time she was the AEW Women’s World Champion and it was decided to have an Interim Champion in the meantime. That interim champion was Toni Storm.
After Storm held the gold for 76 days and lost the title to the current champion Jamie Hayter at Full Gear, it was determined that there will no longer be an “Interim” term attached to the championship. Both Storm and now Hayter’s reigns have been official. So where does that leave Rosa?
In a new report from PWInsider, Rosa was present backstage for the most recent episode of Dynamite on Dec. 21. This show was in her hometown of San Antonio. According to PWInsider, the word going around is that she will not be returning to the ring just yet but is expected around February or March.
Rosa has been appearing frequently on Busted Open Radio where she gave Roxanne Perez praise and named her Wrestler of the Week.
