NXT Women’s Tag Team Title Match Set For Vengeance Day

The NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships will be on the line at NXT’s Vengeance Day which takes place on Feb. 4. The longest-reigning tag champs will Kayden Carter & Katana Chance will face the newly formed team of former rivals Kiana James & Fallon Henley. Carter & Chance have held the gold for 175 days and counting.

On the Jan. 24 episode of NXT, James and Henley teamed up to face Diamond Mine’s Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley. James and Henley had previously been rivals when James wanted to purchase the family bar from Henley. They had a match against each other a few weeks back which had the ownership of the bar going to the victor. Henley was able to keep her bar after defeating James. Now, James has formed an interest in Brooks Jensen who has convinced Henley to give James a chance.

Henley and James would work extremely well together and ended up getting the upset victory over Nile and Paxley. Henley pins Nile off of a shiny wizard.

Later in the night, Brooks and Jensen were celebrating along with Henley on how well she worked with James. Brooks took it upon himself to ask HBK to give Henley & James a tag team title match at Vengeance Day. Henley didn’t seem thrilled as her agreement to wrestle as a team with James was supposed to be a one-time thing.

In the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship match of the night, Carter and Chance took on Alba Fyre. Fyre originally said she could take on the tag champs all by herself and win the gold. As the match started, Sol Ruca came out to join Fyre telling her she has her back as her partner. The match concluded with the champions delivering their finisher on Ruca after Fyre was taken out on the outside. Chance pinned Ruca off of the 450 splash.

Post-match, Fyre made her way to the back walking right past Ruca. Isla Dawn was at the entrance of the stage and smiled as she followed Fyre to the back.

Henley and James then appeared on the small stage at ringside. Henley said she thought about it and the two former rivals will take on the champs at Vengeance Day.
