Trish Stratus entered her first singles match in four years as she stepped foot into the ring at Night of Champions against Becky Lynch. Stratus’ gear was a homage to the black and pink gear she wore the night she main evented against Lita on Raw. Lynch took inspiration from Kill Bill in a yellow bodysuit.
This match between the Hall of Famer and one of the biggest names in the industry today was just as entertaining as you would expect. The final moments of the match had Lynch thinking she won with a ManHandle Slam. However, Lynch’s ring awareness wasn’t up to par as Stratus placed her leg on the bottom rope breaking the count.
As Lynch was dealing with the disbelief that she didn’t get the pin, Stratus rolled out of the ring. Lynch followed her which led to Stratus trying to crawl under the ring. Lynch grabbed her opponent and threw her back in the ring. This distracted the referee which allowed Zoey Stark to emerge out from under the ring.
Stark delivered the Z360 to Lynch and tossed her back in the ring. Stratus landed Stratusfaction to get the three count and get the victory. Stratus and her new protege Stark made their way up the ramp celebrating to end the segment.
Stratus has been demanding “Thank you Trish” but at Night of Champions she may want to thank Zoey.
