WWE Hall of Famer and seven-time Women’s Champion Trish Stratus has had a very surprising 2023. Not only did she return for a match, but she had several and was able to do things that weren’t thought of when she started wrestling in the early 2000’s.
Despite returning for the majority of the year, Stratus was last seen in September when she was defeated by Becky Lynch at Payback in a steel cage match. While speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Stratus would not say if she has wrapped up this return run, but did say getting gold once again would be great.
“When I embarked on the journey, I came back for WrestleMania, ‘Let’s do this little program.’ Suddenly, heel Trish had to come alive. Then, it just kept going and going. I got to do things I didn’t get to do, right? Ladder Match, Saudi Arabia, Cage Match. To be able to dip my toes into the current landscape and check boxes that I wasn’t able to check back in the day was pretty amazing. Yeah, I mean, I could become an eight-time champ. That sounds good to me. Why not?” (Fightful)
During her run, Stratus was able to also help boost Zoey Stark into a contender for the Women’s World Title. Stark recently fought for the title in a Fatal Five-way at Crown Jewel. She will face Rhea Ripley in a singles match for the gold at Survivor Series this month.
