On October 6th of the present year, AAA had its annual Héroes Inmortales Event during Las Fiestas de Octubre in Zapopan, Jalisco. Las Fiestas de Octubre is a month-long festival/fair where people can go to see different types of events, like concerts and, in this case, wrestling shows.
The first match of the night was the annual Copa Antonio Peña (the Antonio Peña Cup). Antonio Peña was the founder of the company, and this is a memorial show in his honor. The tournament is a Gauntlet Match open to any wrestler.
Last year, in 2023, Chik Tormenta won the Gauntlet match, becoming the first woman to win it. This year she enters first in front of her home crowd.
Before starting the match, she cut a promo where she introduces herself and said that she did not come asking for their applause; she demanded to be heard as a woman, stating that this is the Era of Women.
She then directed a message to the new Executive Director, Latin Lover, that previously stated that the women in AAA do not train. She said that she trained and keeps training every day, and that she came tonight to set the record straight and to CALLAR BOCAS (shut mouths up) and demanded to start the tournament for the Antonio Peña Cup.
Throughout the match, different wrestlers made their way to the ring to win a match; in this case, the participant can be eliminated via pinfall, submission, or by being thrown out of the ring through the top rope.
Here are the names of the participants in their entry order.
? 1. Chik Tormenta
? 2. Colmillo de Plata
? 3 Belcegor
? 4. Panic Clown
? 5. Black Andromeda
? 6. Garra de Oro
? 7. Mini Vikingo
? 8. Maravilla
? 9. Adelicious
? 10. Pierroth Jr.
? 11. Brazo de Oro Jr.
? 12. Dalys la Caribeña
Chik Tormenta won the match by eliminating Mini Vikingo with a power bomb, followed by the Style Clash, aka The Faith Breaker, aka Tormentoso Clash by Chik Tormenta. After the three-count pin, she made history by becoming the first ever woman to win the cup twice in consecutive years.
Latin Lover came out to give her the trophy and to congratulate her. He states that because of his comments in regards to the women’s division, we got to see the best of her and was able to win the cup, then he congratulated her again and asked for the crowd to clap for her.
Chik Tormenta grabbed the cup and posed to celebrate her win. Backstage, she said that she was able to do whatever she wanted and was victorious.
The next match was a mixed tag match for the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championships between Decay: Havok and Crazzy Steve against the reigning champions, The Reinas de Reinas Champion Flammer and Abismo Negro.
Before the match, Latin Lover appeared backstage and was seen talking with Flammer as she was walking on her way to her match. He asked her to be part of his army, to which she responded, saying that she would think about it and reminding him that she is Toxica.
Decay made their way to the ring, and pretty much they tried to make it a USA/Foreigners vs. MX type of match. The match went on for around 8 minutes from the ringing of the bell; it was won after Havok Choke slammed Crazzy Steve on top of Abismo Negro to get the win, ending their 648-day reign.
This is their first AAA championship win for both; they posed with the titles after being awkwardly interrupted by El Fiscal and Psicosis when they attacked Abismo Negro with a flame of a can and a lighter and by removing his mask.
The mixed tag match was not the best showing for none of the wrestlers involved, and the timing of the post-match segment was underwhelming since they took the focus of the newly crowded champions to further the Abismo Negro feud.
Nonetheless, congratulations to the new champions; they will be touring with AAA and will be defending their titles in the Guerra de Titanes event on November 5th from CD Juárez Chihuahua.
The second feature of the review will be dedicated to the Triple Treat Women Tag Team Match that was filmed on the 29th of September during the Orígenes Tour in Monterrey, Nuevo León, México.
Two of the Las Tóxicas trio , La Hiedra & The AAA Reina de Reinas Champion Flammer, versus the team of Dalys la Caribeña and NWA Superstar Natalia Markova against the WWE/NXT Alumni Julissa and Valentina.
Before the match, there was a backstage segment between La Hiedra and Julissa. They were fighting as they were interrupted by Latin Lover. Julissa told La Hiedra that she should go to her training and to lose some weight. While La Hiedra responded, saying that she has worked her way to the top in México, unlike Julissa, who was in the WWE, then she said that NOBODY knows Julissa in México. She also channeled her inner Mimi Imfurst by telling Julissa, unlike her, she did NOT need a Sugar Daddy to get where she is at. Latin Lover advised them to fix their issues inside the Ring.
The Triple Treat Tag Match was pretty enjoyable and competitive, following the Traditional AAA Match rules in regards to the tags and the disqualification rules.
The match was won by the team of Las Tóxicas after La Hiedra put Julissa through a piece of wood to get the pin. Post-match Valentina and Julissa attacked Las Tóxicas, and both teams started brawling with each other.
Backstage Post-match, Flammer and La Hiedra were seen talking about tonight and how they proved that they cannot mess with them. Flammer says that Julissa and Valentina are nobodies and that Las Tóxicas are the Best of the Best.
They also called Valentina and Julissa LITTLE GIRLS! saying how overprotected they are and that they are still in diapers while they are fully formed women wrestlers.
While they were talking trash, Julissa and Valentina appeared and attacked them with metal trays and by beating them up backstage until security appeared to help them out and separate them.
Then while Las Tóxicas were on the floor, they were called PERRAS, and they were told that they were coming for them and their championships.
Julissa and Valentina are advertised to make more appearances in AAA in the following month, competing in Tag Team Action. We will see how things develop, but this is it for now.
