As we move on from a raucous AEW Full Gear, tonight, AEW Dynamite is in Chicago, Illinois and the women look to reveal their grudges and progress within the division.
After a successful defense against Kris Statlander this past weekend, the reigning TBS Champion, Mercedes Mone, is here tonight to bask in her victory.
The CEO had an impressive bout and showed everyone that she can get the job done on her own. Meanwhile, her hired help Kamille hasn’t had a stellar job performance in her eyes. Before Mone can do business, Kamille has finally had enough of her boss and tells her to shut it and quits.
Tonight begins the tournament to see who will qualify to enter the International Women’s Cup at Wrestle Dynasty. First up, we have Jamie Hayter taking on Queen Aminata in the semi-finals.
The two put on a test of strength to start the match, and Hayter seems to get the starting advantage. Both competitors begin to trade chops with each other, yet Hayter suplexes Aminata into the corner.
Aminata looks to come back here against a formidable Hayter, but the back and forth continues. She catches her with a Snap Suplex, and strikes Hayter with her shin on the ropes. Hayter attempts to hit the Hayterade, but Aminata counters and sends her to the mat. Aminata looks to go high-risk, but gets caught with a back breaker. Hayter tries to scramble for the pin into a submission, but settles for the Hayterade to advance in the tournament.
Suddenly, the lights go out with just one spotlight on the stage. Given the past few weeks, it looks like Julia Hart is still wants to play games with Hayter.
Backstage, Renee Paquette is backstage with Stardom’s Mina Shirakawa. After Mariah May’s betrayal last week, Paquette asks her if she knew it was coming. Shirakawa admits that May has changed for the worst and that this is the real Mariah May. But, since everyone wants Mina, she vows that May will meet the real Mina.
Out of nowhere, May finally breaks a champagne bottle over Shirakawa’s head. And May, will get what she wants, Shirakawa herself, at Winter is Coming in two weeks.
