Hello everyone and welcome back to the first NXT episode of 2025, New Years Evil! Unlike on the main roster, special events don’t equate to the women’s time getting cut – we have lots to get to, so let’s dive right in!
NXT Women’s Title: Giulia vs. Roxanne Perez
The night kicked off with a marquee matchup as Giulia challenged Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship. The early moments showcased technical brilliance, with Roxanne using headlocks and roll-ups to keep Giulia on her toes. However, Giulia quickly turned up the intensity with stiff headbutts and a missile dropkick, keeping Roxanne on the defensive.
Roxanne targeted Giulia’s arm, snapping it against the ropes and delivering stomps to the shoulder, a strategy that paid dividends as the match progressed. After the break, the pace quickened as both women traded high-impact moves. Roxanne landed a stunning super-rana off the top rope, but Giulia countered with a double underhook superplex and a spinning Michinoku Driver for a near fall that had the crowd on their feet.
Cora Jade’s interference briefly derailed the action, as she rolled Roxanne into the ring, allowing Giulia to deliver a devastating Northern Lights Bomb on the outside. Despite Cora being ejected, the damage was done. Giulia capitalized with a final Northern Lights Bomb in the ring to secure the victory and become the new NXT Women’s Champion.
Winner and NEW NXT Women’s Champion: Giulia
NXT North American Championship #1 Contenders Match
Stephanie Vaquer vs. Kelani Jordan vs. Cora Jade vs. Lola Vice
The battle for the #1 contender spot was chaotic from the start, with Cora Jade quickly becoming the target of the other competitors. Kelani Jordan shone early with rapid-fire kicks and a breathtaking dive to the outside, only for Cora to up the ante with a dive of her own before the break.
Back in the ring, Vaquer and Lola Vice showcased their striking abilities, with Vaquer delivering a Meteora and Lola locking in a sleeper hold. Kelani, ever the high-flyer, landed a jaw-dropping 450 splash that nearly ended the match. In the final moments, Vaquer dumped Lola to the outside and hit Kelani with a backbreaker to score the win.
Winner: Stephanie Vaquer
Fatal Influence vs. Shotzi, Gigi Dolin, and Tatum Paxley
The night’s main event featured Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Jazmyn Nyx, and Fallon Henley) taking on the newly formed “Gothic Attraction” trio of Shotzi, Gigi Dolin, and Tatum Paxley.
Fatal Influence attacked during the babyfaces’ entrance, setting the tone for a chaotic match. Tatum and Jacy kicked things off, with Tatum hitting a dropkick and crossbody before tagging in Gigi. The heels isolated Gigi, using quick tags and targeted offense to keep control.
The action spilled outside as the teams traded dives, with Shotzi and Fallon Henley stealing the show. After the break, Fatal Influence dominated Tatum with hard-hitting strikes and submission holds. However, a hot tag to Gigi turned the tide. Gigi unleashed a flurry of offense, including a double neckbreaker that brought the crowd to its feet.
The match reached its climax as Shotzi hit a Swanton Bomb on Fallon Henley for the win.
Winners: Gothic Attraction
Post match, Shotzi was seen backstage after the match along with Stephanie Vaquer speaking to General Manager Ava. A match is set up next week to determine the #1 Contender of the Women’s North American Championship.
Congratulations to Giulia on winning the NXT Women’s Championship last night! WWE crowning new champions across all three brands signifies that we’re entering a new era in 2025. Last night I gave Liv her flowers for having an excellent reign and the same has to be said for Perez as well. Roxanne’s catalogue of matches she wrestled while NXT Women’s Champion were nothing short of bangers. Her ability to bring out the best in any woman she worked with was a testament to her ability and the moniker of The Prodigy was absolutely fitting.
