At NXT New Year’s Evil, the Unholy Union appeared in General Manager Ava’s office. In this brief interaction, Ava agreed to a number one contenders match between the Unholy Union and the Meta Girls next week. The winners will go on to face the current Women’s Tag Team Champions – Bianca Belair & Naomi.
The Meta Girls defeated Gigi Dolin & Shotzi along with Katana Chance & Kayden Carter on the Dec. 31 episode of NXT in a Triple Threat. Unholy Union defeated Fatal Influence on the Dec. 24 episode of NXT.
Unholy Union are former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions and former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Meta Girls haven’t won gold yet, but they did challenge Belair and Jade Cargill on a couple of occasions.
