Perhaps one of the greatest women’s WrestleMania matches of all time has found itself at number 16 on WWE’s Greatest WrestleMania Matches Ever list.
At WrestleMania 39, Charlotte Flair defended the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley. Ripley won the Royal Rumble that year and chose to face Charlotte. Ripley would win the match and pin Charlotte clean in a match lasting over 23 minutes. This was Ripley’s first SmackDown Women’s Title reign as it is now known as the Women’s World Title. She went on to hold it for 379 days before having to relinquish it in 2024 due to a shoulder injury.
