2012 has gotten off to a great start for one of independent female wrestling’s finest talents, Cheerleader Melissa, as she has been seen on TV around the world in Ring Ka King and this coming weekend will return to SHIMMER — a company that she has been part of from the very beginning — with the SHIMMER Championship around her waist.
It was a long time coming for Melissa who defeated Madison Eagles for the title last October. Now with the next set of tapings due to be filmed in Berwyn, Illinois this weekend, the proud champion joins us to talk about her title win, what it means to be champion and much more.
Melissa talks to us about her incredible career thus far, including growing up as a second generation wrestler and her training in Japan.
The SHIMMER Champion reveals the story of how she was close to joining WWE in 2005, her previous run in TNA as Raisha Saeed and Alissa Flash, and her return to the company for Ring Ka King in India.
Melissa also touches upon her debut for the All Japan Pro Wrestling promotion last year.
