“Your Two Cents” is our interactive feature where we gauge the opinions of our Twitter and Facebook followers on different discussions in women’s wrestling.
This week, we’re asking this: With Raw expanding to 3 hours and Impact going live for the summer, who do you think will benefit more: Divas or Knockouts? We’ve read your responses on our social media pages and picked some of the best submissions to highlight here on the website. As always, you can join the debate by leaving your comments!
Our Two Cents
Batting for Team DD this week, it’s Melanie giving us her personal opinion on this week’s topic:
Melanie: I honestly don’t think there’s a clear cut answer to this question. The WWE Divas, on paper, should be the group to most benefit given that Raw will now have an extra hour to work with, but in actuality, I’m not hopeful that WWE will allocate extra time to the Divas. On the other hand, with live television, it’s easy for things to get lost in the shuffle, so that is my fear for the Knockouts – that, like the Divas, they’ll only just get one segment each show for a match with little in the way of storyline. However, the last time Impact Wrestling was live on a weekly basis, they did have quite a bit of focus on the women, so that could be the case again. I’m going to say that the Knockouts will benefit most, but not necessarily because of the time they get. I think the unpredictable nature of live TV will hopefully draw in more viewers, exposing the Knockouts to more people. That is a positive, I say.

Brandon Magwood | The Knockouts will benefit more. Not that they are not doing it already. It will make them work harder then they already do, just because the show is live. Hopefully the divas will at least have a whole 5 to 6 minute match.

@BranzTheMan | The Knockouts, like always. Divas need new fresh women who are great in the ring and more tv time, storylines etc. 3 hours are not gonna change anything unless WWE changes. The Knockouts always give us their best each week. Unless there’s a huge change in in the Divas divison, I see nothing happening. The Knockouts will always have a better division. |

Everett Will | Knockouts. Three hour specials haven’t benefited the Divas before now, why would a permanent 3 hour slot do so? |
|
@ItsRiskyBitch | I want to say the Divas because they are so underused that more time can only be beneficial. Also the new crop of girls is great! |
|
Josue Guzman | Knockouts. Aside form going live, the other factor playing in the Knockouts favor is the newly hired Brooke Hogan. She hasn’t even started and people, on both sides, are already talking about it which only gives the Knockouts more exposure. Whether it be to see how Brooke manages being in the wrestling business or to see how she fails at it, fans are sure going to tune in to TNA this summer. WWE has yet to prove any interest in their women’s division. |

Memo Soto | I’m going to say Divas just because I want to think they are going to get more air time and so, really really hope so. |
|
@TheDemonHeel | I have to say the Divas will benefit more. It can add a extra match for them each week and even a extra backstage scene here. |
|
@WrestlingTimesX | Knockouts, simply because Impact has called on these ladies to main event before, they can do so again. |
And now we turn it over to you…
