EVE Championship Defended in Japan, Kay Lee Ray Debuts

Earlier this week at Thailand-based promotion Gatoh Move’s latest event, the Pro-Wrestling:EVE title was defended on Japanese shores for the first time in its almost 3-year history. Current champion and Gatoh Move founder Emi Sakura wrestled Hiroyo Matsumoto to a 20-minute time limit draw to retain her championship.

In another first, rising Scottish star Kay Lee Ray made her Japanese debut at the same show, teaming up with 15-year old Joshi sensation Riho to take on the team of Hailey Hatred and Kaori Yoneyama. Unfortunately the pair came up short against the veterans, but nevertheless Ray later described the match on Twitter as “a hell of a lot of fun”.

Kay Lee Ray will be making another appearance in Japan in the next few days as she wrestles for JWP on Christmas Eve, teaming with LEON against DASH Chisako and Sendai Sachiko at Korukuen Hall.
