Stephanie McMahon Named to AdAge’s “40 Under 40”

Advertising Age, the publication of record for the advertising world, has released its list of the top 40 media leaders under the age of 40. Stephanie McMahon, the WWE’s Executive VP of Creative, made the list of rising stars in the advertising and media landscape.

Describing her early interest in the backstage elements of the WWE, Stephanie told AdAge that as a child she would sit in on creative team meetings, “pretending to be not listening, but I was. It’s just really what I’ve always wanted to do.”

She got into it quickly, too, as AdAge details that she became a leader of the creative team at age 22.

On why she stopped appearing on WWE television, Stephanie said “it just got to be too much,” being a new mom and leading figure backstage in addition to playing an on-air character.

Thoughts: This really puts Stephanie’s journey into perspective. It’s astounding to think that she’s only 36 years old and has grown so much in her role with the WWE, from being the bratty “Billion Dollar Princess” to an executive gracing the big “who’s who” lists.
