After months of heated exchanges and belittling insults, one of NXT UK’s rivalries came to its conclusion. Xia Brookside and Nina Samuels finally settled their differences in the ring. The match was the fourth between the two and carried the stipulation the loser becomes the winner’s personal assistant.
The match was fiery and furious, with both competitors attacking each other from the bell. Punches and kicks replaced headlocks and holds. The action spilt outside, where Samuels slammed Brookside into the barrier in an attempt to win via count-out.
Back in the ring, Samuels continued to wear down her opponent with a grinding headlock accompanied by some vindictive trash talk.
A frustrated Samuels then grabbed her loaded purse that she used to defeat Brookside in their previous encounter. As she got back in the ring, Brookside booted it from her grasp and rolled her up for the pin. Samuels is now Brookside’s personal assistant for a month. Let the comedy skit ensue.
The second women’s match of the night was Valkyrie taking on the returning Lana Austin.
Austin began the match as the aggressor, but Valkyrie fended her off with her unique offence. After a sequence of back-and-forth action, Valkyrie hit a series of kicks followed by the Peripeteia kick for the win.
Also on the show, a backstage confrontation between Piper Niven, Jinny and Joseph Conners led to the first-ever mixed tag team match in NXT UK history.
Finally, they hyped up next week’s epic encounter between Kay Lee Ray and Meiko Satomura for the NXT Women’s Championship.
