Former two-time WWE Divas Champion Paige, now going by her real name of Saraya, was released by WWE at the start of July. Since then, Saraya has had a few appearances for wrestling related events but has not been signed anywhere. In a new report from Fightful, AEW did reach out to her over the summer.
Saraya has stated since her release from WWE that she wouldn’t be opposed to wrestling, but it has to be the right situation since she has been out of the ring for a number of years now following her neck injury. Her absence outside of WWE isn’t for lack of interest. Fightful Select did confirm with AEW sources that there had at least been conversations between the two parties.
For what it’s worth, at the beginning of August during the Starrcast V event, Saraya confirmed that she wouldn’t be going to AEW anytime soon.
Fightful added to the report that one person from AEW did state that they’d believe there would be interest from WWE in bringing her back considering the new regime. At the time of this writing, there has been no confirmation by any parties on where Saraya would work moving forward.
Gail Kim previously spoke on interest to have Paige come to IMPACT Wrestling as well.
