On this week’s AEW Dynamite, Tony Schiavone and Aubrey Edwards unveiled a new and secondary championship for the women’s division. As first reported in September by Andrew Zarian of Mat Men podcast, another women’s title was coming. Dynamite will be moving from the TNT Network to the TBS Network on January 5.
In the announcement, a tournament was mentioned in order to crown the new champion. Further details of when that will start were not disclosed at this time.
A vignette was aired after the unveiling which had several women vying for the new championship gold. In it included Thunder Rosa, Skye Blue, Ruby Soho, and Jade Cargill.
