AEW Women’s World Title match at Revolution reportedly had finish changed

Dr. Britt Baker is still the AEW Women’s World Champion and has a shiny new belt design on top of it. She successfully defeated Thunder Rosa at Revolution on Sunday.

According to a report from Fightful, they have learned that the title match had the finish changed multiple times in the weeks prior to the event. They weren’t told a specific reason why for the back and forth of the decision.

Despite Rosa unable to pick up the win and achieve her first gold with the company, she still has a chance. On the March 9 episode of Dynamite she will be facing Leyla Hirsch in a championship Eliminator Match. The winner will become the number one contender and go on to face Baker at the St. Patrick’s Day Slam on March 16. The event takes place in Rosa’s hometown.

This month marks one year since Rosa and Baker had their historical Unsanctioned Light’s Out Match which became the first women’s main event for AEW at the 2021 St. Patrick’s Day Slam.
