Like the majority of the wrestling world, AJ Lee watched in amazement at CM Punk’s emphatic AEW debut.
A jam-packed United Center became unglued when Punk made his first appearance for a wrestling company in nearly eight years. Since then the wrestling world is buzzing that the “voice of the voiceless” is back.
But wrestling fans aren’t the only ones celebrating a comeback never thought possible.
AJ Lee tweeted a collection of screenshots of press releases commemorating her husband’s return accompanied with the caption:
“go on, break the internet, boo @CMPunk“
AJ Lee left WWE in 2015 and retired from in-ring competition. During her WWE career, she was a three-time Divas Champion and held the title for a whopping 295 days. Since then she has become a successful author and mental health advocate.
The return of Punk has brought forth the wants and wishes of fans seeking the same from AJ Lee. Even Sasha Banks took to Twitter to share her excitement about a possible Lee come back.
