One huge question leading up to the first all-women’s PPV in October is, will AJ Lee be there?
Rumors and speculation are emerging about WWE’s interest in bringing back the former Divas Champion.
According to Cageside Seats, which got its information from Barnburner’s “Fired Up” podcast, The Ring Report, and Slice Wrestling, WWE has extended the invitation and the door is open for a return of her choosing.

Lee, real name AJ Mendez, has focused on mental health awareness and writing since departing from the squared circle. Rumors have persisted for years that WWE would invite her back in some form for recent history making events. But she has yet to make any appearances or comments on the current state of the Women’s Division.
Many say she helped kicked off the Divas Revolution by calling out Stephanie McMahon in 2015 in a series of tweets that circulated regarding equal pay:
@StephMcMahon Your female wrestlers have record selling merchandise & have starred in the highest rated segment of the show several times,

@StephMcMahon And yet they receive a fraction of the wages & screen time of the majority of the male roster. #UseYourVoice

This exchange came on the heels of a Twitter movement called #GiveDivasAChance. Following a Divas match between Paige, Emma and the Bella Twins that was just seconds long on Monday Night Raw.
Recently her best friend Celeste Bonin, aka Kaitlyn, was asked if AJ would ever return, a notion she scoffed at, “(laughs) I don’t think so. But who am I to comment on that? I really don’t see that happening. She’s got so much other stuff that she’s got going on in her life. She’s an author now and I don’t see that happening.”
Additionally, in her book Crazy is My Superpower AJ mentions that she suffers from spinal trauma from a damaged cervical spine.
What do you think of this rumor? Do you think AJ will return for Evolution and in what capacity? Sound off in the comments below.
