AJ Mendez made her long-awaited return to wrestling on October 6 when Women of Wrestling announced her as their new Executive Producer.
During the press conference for the reboot of the promotion, Lee took to the stand to talk about her new role.
More recently, Mendez sat down with Izzy on WOW Superheroes YouTube channel to talk about the promotion, her involvement and if fans will ever see her in the ring.
“I will say, I say the same thing in every interview, and it’s always ‘never say never, but don’t hold your breath.’ What I mean by that is, I never say never to anything; physically, mentally, emotionally, I’m healed from everything I’ve gone through in wrestling. I could technically do it, but I’m so enjoying letting the next generation have their spotlight. I got to do everything I wanted to do. So, it really would have to be, is that challenge there? I don’t think the girls need me there. I think that they are going to take over the world all by themselves.“
AJ Mendez last competed in the ring way back in March of 2015. She teamed with Paige and Naomi to defeat the Bella Twins and Natalya. Mendez retired from wrestling on April 3 of that year.
Since leaving wrestling she is a successful author and an advocate for mental health awareness and animal care.
