Alexa Bliss discusses who she’d like to face at SummerSlam

Current Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss was recently interviewed by ESPN’s Cheap Heat podcast to discuss defending her championship against at SummerSlam, her friendship with Nia Jax and working with Sasha Banks. Highlights of the interview below.

Receiving cheers from fans: “I’ve noticed that lately and its actually been quite shocking because for the longest time, even at live events, I would come out and there used to be just like no reaction. So the fact that I’m getting some kind of reaction has been amazing and the fact that its been like somewhat cheers, its very different. I get a little confused but then its fine.”

Relationship with Nia Jax: “We are best friends. I actually became friends with Nia when she had her WWE tryout. In NXT they take a few talents to help with tryouts and I was helping out with Nia’s tryout. I was doing cardio during their lunch break of the tryouts and she just comes up to me and starts talking to me like she’s never met a stranger a day in her life. We just started talking and hanging out and then as soon as she got signed, we just instantly connected and we were best friends ever since. It was really cool because we were so close in NXT. We roomed together on the NXT loop. When we were drafted, we drafted to different brands so that was a little tough. Then as soon as I was traded to Raw, we reconnected. We ride together, we hang out together, we go to the gym together, we’re basically like sisters.”

Working with Sasha Banks: ”I’ve always been the person to say ‘business is business, personal is personal.’ I will never let my personal feelings about somebody get in the way of business. I want to have a productive match, I want to have a safe match, I want to have a great match; I want to take this company to the next level with our women with this women’s revolution. I’ve seen the things she said about me. If that’s how she feels, that’s fine. But we know that we put it to the side and have a productive, professional match because that’s what it’s all about. I’m trusting her with my body, she’s trusting me with hers, and I never want to have somebody’s injury or somebody’s misstep or something happen on my watch. So I know that no matter what I’m always going to be in professional mode. It doesn’t matter how we feel about each other, the point is we have a job to do and we have to go and we have to do it well.”

On who she’d like to face at SummerSlam: “I know that if its with Nia Jax, we’re really close and we can set our friendship aside and have a friendly competition. If its Sasha, I’ve already elaborated on that, it would be an amazing match. I personally think I would prefer to have Nia Jax on my side instead of against me because she’s twice my height and very very strong and I know she can probably break me in a second, so I’m going to say Sasha.”

Alexa Bliss also discusses her move to Raw, adopting a pet pig and reflects back on her time on SmackDown.
