Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair have both been in WWE for about the same time frame. Flair had her first televised match almost exactly nine years ago in July 2013 whereas Bliss first graced our screens in May of 2014. Both women made their way through NXT with Flair winning the NXT Women’s Title, but Bliss never achieved her first taste of gold until the main roster.
Bliss spoke with NXT UK Superstar Jinny on BT Sports about the bond that she had with Flair immediately. She says they bonded over their past and commonalities. By starting slightly before Bliss, Flair assisted in guiding her through the motions in NXT.
“We were starting around the same time and Charlotte definitely took me under her wing and was that person. She would let me ride to the shows with her and Mojo. We became a very close group. I was really happy that one of my first matches was against Charlotte. It was kind of a full-circle moment.” (Fightful)
Bliss also spoke about when she was drafted to the main roster. She doubted that it was going to happen at that moment or even at all. So many of her peers had moved on and she hadn’t at the time.
Currently, Bliss is on the Raw roster and participated in the 2022 Money in the Bank ladder match. She appeared on the July 4 episode of Raw in a backstage segment alluding that she was ready to go after the Raw Women’s Title currently held by Bianca Belair.
