“It feels so crazy because I haven’t had this feeling, to be honest, in awhile. Right before I went out, I just started crying because I just thought ‘How huge is this?’. It’s bigger than me. It was insane. The moment I walked out there and the moment the announcer announced that this was going to be a Women’s match, you can hear the crowd care. The moment I stood out there and I saw little girls, it made everything worth it because I feel like this was put on this earth to do. I want to make a change in the world, empower women, I want them to know their dreams are endless and that they can achieve anything. Having the first women’s match in Abu Dhabi, that’s crazy because last year, it wasn’t allowed and this year we’re doing it. It’s incredible, I couldn’t hold my emotions in that ring.”
Banks also shared her reaction to fans chanting “This is hope”:
“We’ve come such a long way. Not just in WWE but in the whole world. This is something I’m going to remember for the rest of my life and I can’t thank the fans enough because they inspired me tonight. They made my heart so full of joy and happiness. All those chants got to me, even the ‘Biscuit Butt’, I was so surprised but when they chanted ‘This is hope’ it was so powerful”
In addition to Sasha’s emotional reaction Alexa posted on Instagram about the historic night:
