Update: Allysin Kay loses her Shine Championship to Miyu Yamashita in a Winner Takes All match. With both women having their titles on the line the stakes were at an all-time high. The match highlighted submission holds from both competitors.
The conclusion of the match involved the referee calling for the bell after Kay was locked in a choke hold. Without having tapped out, Kay was furious with the referee’s decision. In a video from SHINE’s Twitter page, Kay is caught rocking back in forth. She keeps repeating that she “didn’t tap” and declares that the title is still her belt.
WWN Supershow: Mercury Rising is happening today and Allysin Kay is set to defend her title against Miyu Yamashita. Yamashita is the current Tokyo Princess of Princess Champion in the Tokyo Joshi Pro (TJP) Wrestling promotion.
Never backing down from a challenge, Kay accepted, with some choice words for Yamashita.
Calling the challenge from Yamashita “adorable” shows how little she is worried about this match. The SHINE Champion added that her challenger is nothing but a tourist, and she will be leaving with the “big D”.
WWE isn’t going to be the only promotion pulling a Winner Takes All match this weekend. Kay highlights that Yamashita has a title as well, and she should put her money where her mouth is.
TJP’s champion responded quickly to the challenge. Today at Mercury Rising, their match will be a Winner Take All Match. Regardless of the outcome, one woman will no longer be champion.
