Anna Jay has hopes for AEW Women’s Tag Team Titles to come at some point. As one-half of TayJay, Anna has worked very well as a tag team alongside Tay Conti. With the introduction of the TBS Championship, the next progression for the women as far as gold will most likely be tag team titles.
While speaking with Women’s Wrestling Talk, Anna was asked if she feels that there will be tag team gold in the future. The depth of the division is there for it to be feasible.
“I definitely think so. We didn’t think it would happen anytime soon, which you never know, it was cool to get the secondary women’s title, so now, if I had to guess, the next title for the women’s division should be a tag title. Hopefully, that’s the next one. I don’t know when. I think we do need to keep building and do what we’re doing before that happens, but I definitely think it should happen in the near future. At some point.” [h/t – Fightful]
Despite being known for her partnership with Conti, Anna last teamed with Ruby Soho on Elevation picking up two straight victories. In December, TayJay won a Street Fight against The Bunny & Penelope Ford in the last installment of that long rivalry.
Other championships in AEW have Jade Cargill as the inaugural TBS Champion and Thunder Rosa as the new AEW Women’s World Champion. Cargill is looking for her next opponent, which if she were to win would make her 30-0. After defeating Britt Baker at Revolution, Rosa appears to have her next opponent as Nyla Rose.
