Jamie Hayter is the next woman to qualify for AEW’s Owen Hart Cup.
She defeated Skye Blue on this Friday’s episode of Rampage. In a very competitive match between both women, Hayter followed up a brainbuster with a ripcord clothesline for the victory.
AEW announced the inaugural Owen Hart Cup a few months ago. The tournament will begin at the start of May with qualifying matches leading up to it. The finals will take place at Double or Nothing on May 29.
Rebel accompanied Hayter to the ring, however, Dr. Britt Baker was not at ringside. Commentary stated that she will not return until AEW is back in Pittsburgh which will be April 20.
Hayter joins Toni Storm as the first two women to earn their spots in the tournament. Storm made her AEW debut on Wednesday’s Dynamite. She defeated The Bunny to qualify.
Also on this week’s Rampage, there was a vignetter for Kris Statlander where she says “welcome to the other side of Kris Statlander.”
Tay Conti and Sammy Guevara destroy Dan Lambert’s BMW after Lambert confirmed that they won’t get the match they want. Paige VanZant was in-ring for this promo.
